Love Letter From YHWH

Thought for your day #31, Tues 9/26/00.

Just thought I'd spend some time chatting.

The one and only thing I really need to let you know is a simple reminder....A reminder that I do love you.

I know sometimes it doesn't seem that way.  I know you are hurting, both in your body and your heart.  And sometimes you think I just do not care....Sometimes you think I am punishing you....Sometimes you don't even think I exist at all.

I can't appear face to face to you right now.  Years ago I did that a few times and I really had problems keeping Abraham and Moses and those like them sane afterwards.  You know that silly movie "Dogma" that came out last year (yes, I do keep up with what's going on in your world) where Alanis Morissette plays Me, and Metatron the Angel keeps telling everyone that mortals just cannot handle hearing My Voice directly, well, there's really a lot of truth in that.  But I try to talk to you every day....Each sunrise is a reminder that I'm still here, and you cannot look at that star for even a couple seconds without going blind....It's not that the sun doesn't want you to look at it, you just can't handle it....And there's no way you can understand how many of those suns I have created and hold in my hand....they are like salt crystals to me.

But that is the point, and part of what I want to remind you of.  Looking at the sun too long will hurt you.  In the same way, if a math teacher told the 5th grade students everything she knew about advanced calculus, well, the students would just get confused and the teacher would really be doing the students a disservice.

And that's the way it is with you and me.  You are so young, and so tender.  You have so much to learn, so much growing to do.  And if I was to do the old appearing-at-the-foot-of-the-bed routine, I would really hurt you.  

So you have to look for me in smaller, more subtle ways....The smell of a flower, the glow of stars, the warmth of a kitten as he purrs pretending to sleep on your lap, the smile of a child....There really are lots of them.

But still, you are hurting.  I know this, and feel it.  

And you ask yourself, even though you are polite and don't voice this out loud, Why, if I am real and love you, are you suffering so much?

It goes back to the 5th grade thing.  You are a student of My Universe.  You are enrolled in The University Of YHWH.  "UOY" the Angels call it (something about it being "You" in reverse), which I think is cute.  

And you have lessons to learn.  Keep that in mind!  Please.  It will help you.  All of life is in UOY, and each day you have homework lessons.  Those are the daily struggles you experience.  And if I do them for you then you do not really learn.  And if you try to play hooky then you will not learn either...It is so sad to see people tossing their lives away with drugs and alcohol or TV....I do not hate them, I feel sad that they are "playing hooky" from their lives.  And I gave you the Sabbath, which is your day off from UOY, which if you observed it right really would refresh you and let you deeply rest.

Just remember the school idea.  Life is the University Of Yahweh.  Some of you are elementary students, some are graduates.  You know who you are.  And you graduates will benefit by working as Teacher Assistants, trying to help the younger students with their homework.  Like Ahyh, who likes to tell everyone he "Hosts God's homepage on the internet."  Well, he has some silly ideas, and doesn't always communicate clearly, but at least he is trying.

And most of you are trying too.  But you will learn even faster when you try to teach.  Yes, it is easier to read a language than to speak it.  It is easier to listen to music than to play it.  And I made it that way for a reason: You do not really know or understand something until you try to do it yourself.

So, for most of you, that's an important lesson to learn: if you want to grow, if you want to excel, you will benefit from helping the other students around you who are struggling.  You can't do their work for them, but you can lend an sympathetic ear, give them a word of encouragement, and share with them what you did when you worked on those same problems.

So, when you struggle and hurt, try to remember that these events in your life contain lessons you need to learn.  So that you can grow, and be healthy and strong in all ways: in your bodies, your emotions, thinking clearly......

But most of all.....And you hear it so often that it doesn't hardly register anymore....The most important lesson of all to learn is to love one another.  You can start by loving yourself....You can start by being nice....You can grow by helping your fellow students to learn how important it is to love.

You see, right now the only thing the human race does not have enough of is love.  There is enough food for everyone....all diseases can be eliminated....but you are still spending so much time and money on hate (in movies and militaries and weapons research and on and on) that there's just not enough time or money (which are the main resources you have) left to fix the other problems.

So I am not telling you to get involved with trying to change the world.  The only way to do that is by changing your life.  When you have learned a few more of life's lessons, when you are full of love, and everyone on the earth has done so, then you will realize you do not need your armies and pretty hate machines.  Then you will find you really do have enough time and money to share love with everyone.

That's when it will get really exciting for you.

But don't wait for that to happen in the world-at-large....No....Right here, right now, you can start to live with more love, focusing your time and money on positive, wonderful things that will bless one another.

So, hang in there.  I know you are sad, and sometimes it seems like there's no point at all, that you are all alone, and you are facing a life of only sorrow and pain.  But that's just not true....the harder you work, the more you learn, the more you help other students with their homework, then the stronger and more loving you will be.

I have your diploma waiting for you.
